Charles Street

This project involved the refurbishment and ground-floor extension of a contemporary two storey townhouse, focused on creating better living and bedroom spaces across the ground and lower ground floors. The brief centred on increasing natural light and making movement through the home feel easier and more intuitive. Rooflights and new areas of glazing were introduced at ground level, with glazed internal doors allowing daylight to filter through the plan and connect rooms visually. Internal changes helped re-orient the layout, reducing pinch points and giving each space a clearer purpose. Planning permission was granted for extending to side and rear. The completed scheme offers brighter, more comfortable living spaces and a layout that works more naturally for everyday life, with improved flow between rooms and a stronger connection across both levels of the house.
